Tuesday 6/1/10
IN CLASS:
Today students wrote in their journals for 10 minutes and then took a brief clicker quiz over the questions from the assignment over the weekend. Those who were not here on Friday were given the reading assignment and questions. They will need to turn in the completed questions for credit. After that we began looking at our final writing assignment: a letter to self.
Students are going to compose a letter to themselves explaining what they were like at the beginning of 7th grade, how they have changed, and what they would like to do for next year. Each class is creating a rubric for the expectations and grading for the assignment. We will work on proper letter format and how to address an envelope. At the end of the summer, each letter will be mailed to the author as they begin to transition to being an 8th grader at the school. Further instructions and rubrics will be posted tomorrow.
