Hours 2, 5, 6--Today vocab was due so we spent the first part going over the week's words. Then students read chapter 13 on their own. Their homework is to answer the second critical response (in light of what we learned yesterday for looking at student work). To print a copy of the worksheet, click here. It is due tomorrow.
Hours 7, 8--We continued working on clear and succinct thesis statements. Students got outlines today which they began completing. I would like them to have a basic draft of an outline done by Friday. This involves a completed thesis statement, direct quotations, and some of their own critical thinking and ideas to round it out. We also checked vocab during class today.
